SUIBOKUKA
The art of flower arrangement called Suibokuka stems from an ink painting of a flower imagined by Suibokuka. By replacing the Ga of the painting to the Ka of a flower, the image is expressed not with a brush but with living plants. Suibokuka is an exquisite and mystical style of Ikebana. It uses simple containers and natural flowers found in our everyday lives. In addition, a poem or Waka, is written on a thick piece of paper composed by the founder of the school, Risyun Hattori.
SUIBOKUKA-TEMAE
The Suibokuka-Temae is an elegant performance combining flower arrangement and the art of Japanese tea ceremony. It includes the fluid movements of various positions and the recitation of a poem. The Suibokuka-Temae has been highly received and has won several awards internationally.
